Fox Mulder and Lucas Buck team up

The stars of two of the 90s most popular – though one didn’t last any longer than a dozen episodes – supernatural series’, David Duchovny (“The X-Files”) and Gary Cole (“American Gothic”), will team for the dramedy “The Joneses”.

Duchovny of course played Fox Mulder on 9 seasons of the phenomenally-successful “The X-Files” – and also in two feature film spin-off’s – whilst Cole played the devilish Sheriff Lucas Buck in Shaun Cassidy’s short-lived but highly-loved “American Gothic”.

Neither Mulder or Buck will have to deal with the occult this time around. The pic centers on a picture-perfect family that moves into a suburban neighborhood and immediately becomes the toast of the town, loved and envied by all. But the reality is they are a commissioned fake family put together by a marketing company as a way to introduce new luxury-level products to neighborhoods around the world.

Duchovny plays the fake father, a man undergoing a crisis of confidence because he is living a lie. Cole plays a neighbour.

Also on board the film are Demi Moore, playing the mother, and Amber Heard (“The Pineapple Express”), as the fake daughter who is trying to seduce her fake dad while looking for a rich man.

Derrick Borte is directing from his own script.
