Franco goes from Blockbusters to General Hospital to Porn!

James Franco is in talks to play pornographer Chuck Traynor opposite Kate Hudson’s Linda Lovelace in a new biopic on the famed porn star (a second biopic, “Inferno” is in the works with “Watchmen” star Malin Akerman tackling the shaft), says Deadline.

“Lovelace” will be helmer by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, who directed Franco – who may or may not be an Oscar Nominee for “127 Hours” by the time you read this – in last year’s “Howl”.

Chuck Traynor was a minor figure in the U.S East Coast Porn movement; he was the unit manager on “Deep Throat”, and married to the film’s star, Lovelace.

In 1979, Lovelace undertook a lie detector test in an effort to back up claims that Traynor was, well, essentially a monster. Lovelace claimed that Traynor physically and mentally abused her, forced to her have sex with men, head up his prostitution ring, and at one stage even threatened to shoot her sister’s son if Lovelace left him. Lovelace apparently even had to ask permission to go to the toilet.

Whilst rom-com queen Hudson (“How to lose A Guy in Ten Days”, “Fool’s Gold”) is considered a lock for the lead role of “Deep Throat” star Lovelace, Franco’s choca-bloc schedule is currently deterring the actor from formally committing.
