Fresh from the set of "Resident Evil 2"

“Resident Evil: Apocalypse” is well on track in Canada, and this site has a slew of set-pics up of scenes that were being filmed near the site owner’s dwelling. Beware, there is a couple of spoilers as it is discussed where these scenes fit into the scheme of things on celluloid, but still a very worthwhile look if you feel valiant. On Sunday (October 12), Toronto’s Bloor Viaduct bridge was the scene for a "Resident Evil 2 : Apocalypse" night shoot, featuring hordes of panicky city dwellers, personal possessions lashed to their car roofs, attempting to flee ‘Raccoon City’ from ‘Umbrella Corporation’ zombies, says Command Entertainment. The bridge was closed at 12 noon in preparation for the all-night shoot. The scene will also continue shooting tonight (October 13). The bridge has been completely closed to pedestrians, with crew having used cranes and forklifts to build a huge grey wall and gate at the east end of the bridge. Toronto had previously notified the area’s 20,000 residents of the 2-day shoot, re closures and the extensive use of pyrotechnics. "Resident Evil 2 : Apocalypse" started shooting in Toronto in August, with key scenes filming at City Hall and on the Gardiner Expressway. The ‘Viaduct’ scene, will occur early in the film.
