Galaxy Quest TV series in the works at Paramount+

A previous attempt at bringing the property to TV screens sold to Amazon in 2015

The long-gestating “Galaxy Quest” TV series is inching closer.

Paramount+ is teaming with Paramount Television Studios to develop a series with Breaking Bad alum Mark Johnson, who executive produced the 1999 film. Johnson and his Gran Via Productions banner are the only execs currently attached to the project.

A previous attempt at bringing the property to TV screens sold to Amazon in 2015. Sadly, the project never moved beyond the development stage after the death of actor Alan Rickman, who would’ve reunited with the cast of the Dean Parisot directed film, including Tim Allen and Sigourney Weaver, for the small screen.

No word on whether this latest incarnation will be a complete reboot of the property or be linked to the film.
