Gazzam climbs up to Cliffhanger

According to Deadline, Neal Mortiz and StudioCanal’s “Cliffhanger” remake- first announced back in 2009 – has added Joe Gazzam to it’s staff.

Gazzam, best known for spec script “Shadow Run”, which is now in development at Sony, is write the reboot of the 1993 actoioner.

Back when the project was first announced, it was said that the new film would fix on a group of young climbers that get themselves into a sticky, deadly situation like Sylvester Stallone’s Gabe Waker found himself in in the original.

No word on whether Stallone might cameo.

Moritz (“Fast & Furious”, “xXx”) will produce alongsaide Ori Marmur at Original Film and Ronald Halpern at Studio Canal.
