“X-Files” alum Gillian Anderson will star opposite Lena Headey (“Game of Thrones”) in The Abandons, Kurt Sutter’s action drama set in 1850s Oregon, Netflix reported today.

The actress, whose other small screen credits include “Hannibal” and “Sex Education”, plays Constance, matriarch of a wealthy family who — despite the town’s bias against women — formed a powerful web of allies through money, charm & ruthlessness.

Sutter is best known for creating cult series “Sons of Anarchy”.
