Glee star nabs female lead in Spielberg pic

“Glee” star Dianna Agron has nabbed the female lead in the feature film adaptation of young adult book saga, “I Am Number Four”.

Agron joins Alex Pettyfer (“Stormbreaker”), Teresa Palmer (“Bedtime Stories”) and Sharlto Copley (“The A-Team”, “District 9”) in the D.J Caruso (“Eagle Eye”) directed film. Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay are producers.

The film, says THR, revolves “around a group of nine aliens who escaped their home planet just before it was annihilated by a rival species. Hiding out on Earth, the title character, to be played by British actor Alex Pettyfer, disguises himself as a human high schooler, only to discover he’s still being hunted by his planet’s enemy. Agron will play a girl dating a high school jock who falls for Number Four and becomes his confidante.”

The pic, written by “Smallville” vets Al Gough and Miles Millar, films next month in Pittsburgh.
