Nick Cassavetes has departed his post as director of “Gotti : Three Generations”, according to Variety.

The trade cites a scheduling clash for the reason the “Notebook” director has left the project – thing is, Cassavetes’ latest project “Yellow” is filming now, whereas “Gotti” wasn’t due to begin until October… the plot thickens.

The film stars John Travolta as John Gotti, Joe Pesci as Angelo Ruggiero and Travolta’s daughter Ella Blue has a featured role while Lindsay Lohan’s in negotiations for the role of Victoria Gotti.

The flick, written by actor-writer Leo Rossi, is described as revealing the relationship of a father who lived and died by the mob code and a son who chose to leave that world behind and redeem himself.
