Han Solo was Queen Amidala’s father?

“Indiana Jones 4” rumour rears it’s head again

According to Cinematical, Natalie Portman may be in the running to play the ageing archaeologist’s daughter in the next “Indiana Jones” movie.

The site attended a Q&A with “Raiders of the Lost Ark” actress Karen Allen, who told the crowd that she’d heard a little whisper about the foxy riding in Indy’s sidecar.

“I just heard Natalie Portman was cast as Indy’s daughter”, she revealed, before quickly changing the subject.

As for whether Allen (“The Sandlot”) will be involved in the project, reprising her role as Marion, she said she wasn’t sure, but relayed the rumour of Indy’s old girlfriends – which would also include Kate Capshaw’s Willie Scott – appearing in a scene. (Though Karen Allen: an ACME page indicates that she will indeed have a cameo).

But back to the Portman rumour. This is old news. Or rather, an old whisper. I don’t really believe it….. but I want to. Heck, I’d love to see a fist-swingin’ Natalie Portman, fighting alongside her famous poppa. But… this one popped up on the web around five or six years ago. Word was that George Lucas had spoken to Portman about whether she’d be interested in playing Indy’s daughter on the set of the “Star Wars” films. Even then, I’m not sure if there was any truth to it. Could be pure fanboy speculation or dreamin’…. or, something else.

Anyway, shovel this one on the mound of coals marked ‘potentially toxic rumour’.
