Happy Days‘ Tom Bosley dead at 83

Very sad news, Tom Bosley, known to us all as ‘Mr C’ on “Happy Days”, has sadly passed away.

Bosley, 83, had been battling lung cancer.

The actor’s “Happy Days” co-star Henry Winkler said Bosley was “a true artist … a great husband, and a fabulous father and grandfather. He will be sorely missed, but never forgotten”.

Bosley is also remembered for his role on “Murder She Wrote” and “The Father Dowling Mysteries”.

Don’t know about you guys, but I grew up on “Happy Days” – it was a staple of my TV diet. Even in ‘The Ted McGinley years’, our household stuck with it. As great as Henry Winkler was as The Fonz and Ron Howard was as Ritchie, it was Bosley and Marion Ross that provided the putty that held those bricks together. They’d have to be two of the most memorable TV parents in history – in fact, TV Guide named Bosley’s Howard Cunningham the #9 most popular TV dad in history. Don’t even question those numbers were cooked.
