Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller, Austin Butler and Harry Styles are up for the role of Elvis Presley in the Warner Bros-production set to get underway early next year under the tutelage of Baz Luhrmann.
As previously reported, Tom Hanks is already set to play Presley’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker in the film, which tells of the relationship between the dirt-poor musician and the veteran manager.
Luhrmann is testing the aforesaid group of young actors as we speak, with a decision set to be made next week.
While musician Styles is a relative unknown commodity in the film world, Elgort (“The Fault in Our Stars”, “Baby Driver”), Butler (“The Samara Chronicles”, “The Dead Don’t Die”) and Teller (“Top Gun : Maverick”, “Footloose”) have more than proved their worth on celluloid over the last few years.
