John Carl Buechler directs a remake of his own film!
Noah Hathaway, the star of the original “Troll” (1986), is set to make his triumphant return to the big screen in a remake of that very same film.
According to Bloody Disgusting, Hathaway – who also starred in “The Never Ending Story” (1984) – won’t be reprising his role as the pint-sized hero though. He’ll play a new character.
Tells writer/directorJohn Carl Buechler, who worked with Hathaway on the original, “Noah’s matured into a fine young actor with an interesting intensity, and we are proud to have him on board”.
Buechler is also hoping to cast a few other folks from the original movie in his redo.
The original film told of a wicked troll king in search of a mystical ring that will return him to his human form invades a San Francisco apartment complex where a powerful witch lives.
