Hendry geeks out for Dork Diaries gig

Newcomer Annie Hendry has been tapped to adapt Rachel Renée Russell’s bestselling YA book series “Dork Diaries” for the big screen.

Lionsgate and Summit picked up the rights to “Diaries” last March, and is in talks with Karen Rosenfelt (“Twilight”) to produce through her Sunswept Entertainment banner.

The books, which center on an eighth grade student navigating the mean girls, crushes, friends, and enemies at a new school, have sold over 19 million copies.

Hendry’s other writing credits include the award-winning play ”The Catholic Girl’s Guide to Losing Your Virginity”, which he she also starred in.
