Hey kids, want a toothpick!? A sequel to Drive on the way!

80’s/Tangerine Dream/Mann/DePalma/McQueen throwback “Drive” garnered more fans than the ‘I hate Brenda Walsh’ club when it was released earlier this year; now comes word that a sequel could be on the way.

According to author James Sallis (via Litreactor) “Driven” will be released next April – albeit in book stores.

The follow-up, we’re told, takes place “Six years later – Phoenix. Out of nowhere someone wants Driver dead. Who? Why? Big mistake…”

Now of course there’s no guarantee that “Driven” will ever make it to screens (and if it does, it mightn’t be released under that title, being that a well-known Sylvester Stallone dud bears the same name) but considering the accolades, acclaim and adoration actor Ryan Gosling and director Nicolas Refn got for “Drive” it’s likely something that they duo will at least discuss in due course.

The aforementioned site also has the cover art for the book (below).
