Ian McKellen will play Cogswell in Disney’s live-action “Beauty and the Beast”, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Bill Condon directed movie, based largely on the 1991 animated movie, would see the “X-Men” join a cast that includes Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast/Prince, Luke Evans as villain Gaston, Josh Gad as Le Fou, and Audra McDonald as Garderobe.
Cogswell was the Prince’s Butler before he was transformed into a clock. Aussie actor Bert Newton played the role in the local stage version.
