Jennifer Lawrence rumored for Tinkerbell origin tale

Long-gestating Disney project previously had a “Morning Show” star attached

Jennifer Lawrence, sitting pretty this year thanks to her splashy, successful turn in adult rom-com No Hard Feelings, is rumored to be playing pint-sized Tinkerbell in Disney’s long-gestating Tink project.

Reese Witherspoon had previously been tapped to star in the long-in-development project, and remains on as a producer, but seems the house of mouse has turned it’s attention to casting year-old Lawrence in the Peter Pan spin-off.

That news hails from Daniel RPK (via Toonado).

Maria Melnik’s script is reportedly an origin tale of Tink and Peter, said The Disinsider recently.

“After Peter becomes gravely injured, Tink makes a deal with the head fairy (named Variel Tarin) to save his life. This results in Peter staying a 9-year-old forever, and Tink losing her voice. The story doesn’t end there, though. After Peter meets Wendy, Tink becomes incredibly jealous. However, when Hook kidnaps Peter she and Wendy must team up to save him before it’s too late.”
