Johnny Depp’s back in Hunter S.Thompson terrain with “The Rum Diary”, the long-awaited feature film version of the Thompson penned novel. The trailer debuted on TV’s Entertainment Tonight today, and you’ll find the video below.
Co-starring Amber Heard, Aaron Eckhart, Giovanni Ribisi and Richard Jenkins, “Diary” is loosely based on Thompson’s experience working as a freelance journalist in Puerto Rico in the late ’50s. Depp is the reporter working alongside a motley crew of self-destructive staffers at a struggling San Juan newspaper, where an erotic love triangle emerges.
