Caffeinated Clint
Moviehole has been supplied with the trailer for Harold Zwart’s upcoming “Karate Kid” remake. The flick stars Jaden Smith (“The Day the Earth Stood Still”), Jackie Chan (“Shanghai Knights”) and Oscar Nominee Taraji P.Henson (“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”).
Inspired by John G.Avildsen’s 1994 film of the same name, the film tells of Dre (Smith, son of producer Will), a skateboarding video game buff who moves to China after his single mother is forced to go there for work. Unable to speak Chinese, Dre finds it hard to settle in, and gets beat up by the local bully. Chan plays Mr. Han, a maintenance man who spots his black-eye and offers to teach him both martial arts and Chinese, so he can defend against all the unkindly kung-fu students (Moviehole was the first to report the film’s storyline, and offer up it’s list of characters, earlier in the year.
