Kidman and Curtis to star in Kay Scarpetta series

The stars of “The Undoing” and “Scream Queens” will play the pathologist and her sister

Acclaimed actresses Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis will star in a small screen series based on Patricia Cornwell’s Kay Scarpetta books.

Kidman, who previously starred in the series “The Undoing”, will play the title role and former “Scream Queens” star Curtis is the famous crime-solving forensic pathologist’s sister Dorothy, according to Deadline. The two will produce the series from writer-showrunner Liz Sarnoff (Barry) and Blumhouse Television, which Prime Video looks to pick up for two seasons.

“Patricia Cornwell is a bonafide literary trailblazer, and collaborating with her to bring her beloved character Kay Scarpetta to life through the power of television and to introduce her to an entirely new audience is exciting,” Curtis said when announcing the book acquisition. “The confluence of Blumhouse and Comet bringing to life a dark, fun and layered work world and family life, spearheaded by the smart and sexy indomitable Kay Scarpetta is going to be a thrilling ride.”
