“Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight has inked two lucrative deals this month. First, he’ll write a new untitled Star Wars project that Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Ms. Marvel) is attached to direct. This is the same project Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson recently departed.
The movie is widely expected to be among Lucasfilm’s first Star Wars films since 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. More information about the movie, including a possible title, is expected to be announced at the Star Wars Celebration in London in April, says Variety. (Online rumors also suggest that Lucasfilm will announce a new Star Wars trilogy at the same event).
In addition to that juicy gig, Knight has been tapped to write a remake of Vertigo for Paramount Pictures and Team Downey.
Robert Downey Jr will play the title role in the film, a remake of the 1958 Alfred Hitchcock classic about a former police detective forced to retire after a line of duty trauma that leaves him with fear of heights and vertigo.
