Laguna Beach : Season 2 (DVD)

I really don’t get the fascination with these kinds of shows. I don’t see the appeal in sitting around watching other people – and not even people that are especially that interesting – talk, giggle, eat, fart, kiss or sleep.

I really don’t get the fascination with these kinds of shows. I don’t see the appeal in sitting around watching other people – and not even people that are especially that interesting – talk, giggle, eat, fart, kiss or sleep.

I’m obviously in the minority though, because the rest of the world is absolutely obsessed with watching these mind-numbing reality programmes – the likes of which “Big Brother” are king. I obviously left the mind-controlled substance they’re slipping into coke at the bottom of the can.

In terms of reality TV, “Laguna Beach” is merely just another – yet those without a life will no doubt want to watch it … to see people talk, giggle, fart and sleep. You might even see a couple kiss! (oooooh! Aaaaah! Wow!)

The show – which aired on MTV – essentially follows a bunch of teens living in Laguna Beach, Orange Country, who are near the end of high school and are beginning the next chapter of their lives. (We watch as they squabble, cry, stress-out and take long walks on the beach. Its all rather uninteresting, if you ask me.)

One of the standout characters (and I say characters, because I’m betting this thing is faked to the core) is Kristin Cavallari as well, Kristin Cavallari. She’s a high-class power chick who seems to rule the roost. She’s also quite a looker – so there’s a love triangle. She seems to get a lot of screen time, so I’m assuming she’s tested the most popular among the nutball viewers of this programme.

God I hate reality TV.

In addition to the episodes, there’s plenty of extras – none of which did much for me – including cast interviews, featurettes, deleted scenes, highlights and casting tapes.
