Rob Greenberg will take over from Pam Fryman as director of the upcoming “How I Met Your Mother” spinoff, “How I Met Your Dad”.
According to Deadline, a close family emergency has pulled Fryman away from the project at late notice. She was initially onboard to helm the pilot and exec produce, present during the casting process and at the pilot’s table read.
Fryman would seem a logical directorial choice for the spinoff. She has been with HIMYM as exec producer/director for its entire nine-season run and has directed 172 of 184 eps, including the pilot and the upcoming finale.
Greenberg has directed seven HIMYM episodes, the second most after Fryman.
