Lionsgate vs Paramount!

Looks like Oren Peli’s going to be able to afford to pay that abode-haunting ghost of his a hefty amount to rack off soon! (If, what I suspect will happen, happens…)

In a rather sneaky friggin’ move, Lionsgate have decided to excise the option they had on “Saw 6” director Kevin Greutert, gun-to-head asking him to kindly direct “Saw 7 3-D” over Paramount’s recently-announced “Paranormal Activity 2”.

Not surprisingly, the move came after Paramount decided to release “Paranormal Activity 2” on the same date as the new “Saw” sequel.

David Hackl, who directed ”Saw V”, was originally Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures’ pick to direct Jigsaw’s latest jaunt, but according to Deadline Hollywood Daily, he’s stepped aside so Greutert can Gulliver’s Travels (Emily Blunt will get that one, if not one else) can don the megaphone.

Assumingly Paramount will go back to original “Paranormal Activity” director Oren Peli to direct the sequel… or, they’ll just play Lionsgate’s game, and go after David Hackl.

Hilariously entertaining!
