Lucasfilm say Beattie not steering Indiana

Despite what we were told the other day, and despite what Stuart Beattie himself tells this month’s edition of IF Magazine, He’s reportedly not involved in “Indiana Jones 4” (a few happy grins out there, I’m sure).

TheIndyExperience report “As you have read all over the net and on TIE.c, Pirates of the Caribbean writer, Stuart Beattie was rumored to have been hired to rewrite the Indiana Jones IV script. Well, it seems this rumor has officially been debunked. I just received an email from Lucasfilm and they have confirmed that the rumor is indeed FALSE. An official Lucasfilm spokesman assured me that work is still continuing on the Indy IV script as it was before. In a way this is a bit of a let down, but Indy IV hasn’t been tossed out yet. Officially they’re still making the film, it just might take a bit longer. It’s safe to assume that Lucas will be doing the rewrites on Darabont’s script, but that is NOT official. This would put the release of Indiana Jones IV in 2006, as it was rumored before.”

I’d say if Beattie was involved, it was probably as merely a second-hand to Frank Darabont – who he’s worked with before – when the latter writer was on “Indy”. Funnily enough, another contacted emailed us to say he’s known of Beattie’s involvement for a while too, more recently.

Guess we’ll see who wrote the thing when it arrives on the silver screen.

Big thanks to ‘Aaron’
