Macfadyen talks Three Musketeers

It was reported by the trades earlier this week that “Robin Hood” star Matthew Macfadyen has signed to play ‘Aramis’ in director Paul W.S Anderson’s re-telling of the “Three Musketeers” legend. Seems the trades only got that ‘half’ right.

Speaking to Roger Moore at The Orlando Sentinel, Macfayden explained he’s actually playing Athos. “Unless I’ve read my contract wrong”, the British actor said.

Macfayden, who’ll star opposite Orlando Bloom, Ray Stevenson and Luke Evans in the film, says playing a Musketeer shouldn’t be too difficult, considering his sword-wielding, big-shoe wearing past.

“Actually, I’ve done a bit of swordfighting in my time, even though I don’t do much of that in Robin Hood,” the actor told the site from Cannes. “And I’ve worn my share of really big boots!”
