Majors to star in Da Understudy for producer Will Smith

Creed III scene-stealer Jonathan Majors is set to star in and produce Da Understudy from Will Smith’s Westbrook Studios and Amazon Studios.

Per Deadline, the Ant Man and the Wasp : Quantummania star would potentially reunite with his Da 5 Bloods director Spike Lee, who is circling to direct, on the project.

Da Understudy, says the trade, “tells the story of life imitating art when the understudy of a Broadway production finds a role he’s willing to kill for.” Tom Hanada, Zach Strauss and Tyler Cole wrote the screenplay, which is based on an original story by Cole and developed in-house by Westbrook (King Richard).
