One of my favourites – and not just talent wise, but as a person; she’s absolutely lovely – Mandy Moore is set to be beamed into lounge-rooms each week.
The songstress cum actress, currently being asked to ‘do Rapunzel’ by every 5-year-old “Tangled” fan that stops her in the Whole Foods Market (which is where I’ve seen her before – girl eats well!), will star in a single-camera comedy of which “Real Steel” director Shawn Levy will direct the pilot and executive produce the series.
Deadline says the sitcom, which “centers on newlyweds Annie (Moore) and Ben who get the opportunity of a lifetime to run a hip, new restaurant in Annie’s hometown bringing her closer to her needy and high maintenance family”, earned itself a spot on ABC’s radar back in October.
The show is currently untitled – suggestions are likely not welcome, but let’s throw the producers a few anyway… er, um, how about “And family makes Moore”?, “Mandy and Ben”?, “Are you Being Served”? (oh yes, that’s right, taken), “Family and French Sticks?”….
