Mel Gibson’s Hacksaw Ridge to release in November

Director Mel Gibson’s “Hacksaw Ridge” is set to be released on November 4.

The World War II film stars Andrew Garfield, Sam Worthington, Luke Bracey, Teresa Palmer, Hugo Weaving, Rachel Griffiths and Vince Vaughn, with a script by Robert Schenkkan and Randall Wallace.

“Hacksaw Ridge” is based on the true story of Corporal Demond Doss (Garfield), an American World War II medic who saved 75 soldiers during the Battle of Okinawa without firing a gun. He was the first conscientious objector (someone who claims the right to refuse military service) to win the Congressional Medal of Honor.
