Melrose Place won’t be coming back, fans!

Not surprisingly, considering it’s terrrrrible ratings (not even Heather Locklear’s return appearance as the witchy Amanda Woodward could save it), The CW has officially canceled “Melrose Place”. Yep, the season-ender cliff-hanger will never be resolved (Ella taking over the agency; Amanda going to Jail and so on). As it turns out, the series might never have been able to carry on anyway – not with star Heather Locklear facing serious jail time!

The new “Melrose” starred newcomers Katie Cassidy, Colin Egglesfield, Stephanie Jacobsen, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, Jessica Lucas, Michael Rady, and Shaun Sipos, and featured guest appearances by ‘old Melrose’ regulars Locklear, Thomas Calabro, Laura Leighton, Josie Bisset and Daphne Zuniga.
The first batch of episodes deal with the murder of Sydney Andrews (Laura Leighton).

For those that never caught the series, EP Darren Swimmer said on his Twitter account that “From what I hear the Melrose Place (2009) DVD will be released exclusively through Amazon. Not sure when.”

It’s better news for fans of “One Tree Hill” and “Life Unexpected” – they’re both returning. The CW has also ordered the new Tom Welling-produced cheerleader series “Hellcats” and the reboot of “Nikita” starring Maggie Q from “Naked Weapon”.
