“Behind the Candelbra” First Look!
A wide-angle lens has captured Michael Douglas and Matt Damon on the set of the Liberace biopic. The clothes and wigs are Douglas, as Liberace, and Damon, as his lover Scott Thorson, going method. The movie, also starring Rob Lowe, Dan Aykroyd and Cheyenne Jackson, will air on HBO in 2013.
Encino Man resurrected for “Split Decision”
Brendan Fraser will headline director Damian Lee’s new action-thriller. Aussie boy Dominic Purcell and “Earl” funnyman Ethan Suplee co-star. The Canadian production tells of two children who witness a murder on a trip, and the murderers come after the children to silence them – – not counting on Brendan Fraser all-round hero getting in their way.

Warner Bros are bringing Jamie McGuire’s book , about a teetotaler and the tattoo-covered guy she makes a bet with, to the big screen after winning the rights in a fierce bidding war.

The teen fave will Nat Wolff and Austin Stowell in the rock ‘n’ roll-themed indie about ” 16-year-old Ric Thibault (Wolff) and his crush Nina Pennington (Gomez) as they embark on a rock ‘n’ roll-themed odyssey.” Cary Elwes and Dylan McDermott add class to the project in supporting roles.
Franco is bad to the bone in “Homefront”
One-time “Spider-Man” villain James Franco is joining Jason Statham in the Sylvester Stallone-written actioner. The Gary Fleder directed movie, set to go into production next month in New Orleans, “will see Franco take a villainous meth kingpin named Gator who runs the small town to which a family, led by an ex-DEA agent (Statham), moves in the hope of a quiet life. ”

Hugh Jackman, Lee Daniels have “Orders to Kill”
“The Butler” director will shoot Hugh Jackman in the Martin Luther King assassination film, set up with Millennium Pictures. “The film will tell the story of William Pepper (Jackman), a controversial attorney and activist who for decades has argued that convicted killer James Earl Ray, who recanted his confession and died arguing his innocence, didn’t shoot MLK. The picture will follow Pepper over the years as he wages a one-man campaign, interviewing witnesses and building support for his theory that other interests, including those from the U.S. government, were behind the 1968 Memphis killing. (In a nutshell, Pepper, who is still alive, argues that government interests wanted King dead because of his opposition to the Vietnam War.) It will be based on Pepper’s own book, which has been adapted for the screen by Hollywood screenwriter Hanna Weg.”

Another funny fellow aboard the Vince Vaughn/Owen Wilson reunion : rising ha-ha guy Josh Gad. Gad (“Jobs”) will play ‘headphones’, an enginner at the tech firm Vaughn and Wilson’s characters get jobs at in the Shawn Levy directed picture.

Tom Hardy to enter boxing ring?
The rumour-mill is awash with Brit-fave and current ”Dark Knight Rises” star Tom Hardy taking on a charity boxing match against British former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye. Hardy is known for becoming the character he plays, so perhaps he’ll combine the roles of Bane, Bronson and Warrior all into one, or perhaps it’s a PR stunt to promote Haye, who has expressed his want to enter movies.
Cordon to join “Mission : Impossible 5”
James Cordon is rumoured to be playing be Simon Pegg’s brother in the next “M:I” sequel. Well, fresh from his emotional award winning stint on Broadway and the West End, Cordon is indeed hot property, however I’d take this statement with a pinch of salt. Despite the fact he pens and acts in comedies, James Cordon has a dark side and is more Seymour Hoffman than Pegg’s often bumbling and confused series of nice-guy characters he seems to portray. Cordon has stated he will bring his much-adored series ‘Gavin and Stacey’ back to TV for another set of new shows.

The “Unfaithful” actress will star in documentarian Amy Berg’s feature debut based on the Laura Lippman novel. “Two little girls banished from a neighborhood birthday party take a wrong turn down an unfamiliar Baltimore street—and encounter an abandoned stroller with an infant inside.
