Monaghan and Rhys-Meyers do the Impossible

‘Tis the Season for "MI:3" casting…fa la la la la….ah, yup.

Hot on the heels of hearsay that Lindsay Lohan, Katie Holmes and Elisha Cuthbert are being eyed for roles in "Mission : Impossible 3" – either that, or a night on Cruise’s Top Gun – comes a couple of locked names for the spy-sequel.

Michelle Monaghan ["Mr and Mrs Smith"] and rising young actor Jonathan Rhys-Meyers ["Elvis"] are about to suit up for roles in the Paramount moneyspinner, says Production Weekly.

The site also reports that the film is set to start filming in Caserta, Italy on July 18th – and that The Royal Palace, known as the ‘Reggia’, will be used to recreate the interior of the Vatican for a handful of scenes.

No word on Michelle or JR are playing yet, and whether any of the tales about Lohan, Holmes or Cuthbert are true yet, and not just ever-present www rumours.
