Monster House co-writer directing Lego Movie sequel

Rob Schrab (“Community”) will direct Warner’s “Lego Movie” sequel, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller retain their positions as writers, working from a story they concocted with Jared Stern and Michelle Morgan. The aforesaid twosome, who helmed the 2014 hit, will also produce.

Schrab co-wrote family gem “Monster House”, so the next jaunt around Lego land is in good hands.

“The LEGO Movie captivated critics and audiences on a global scale with its irresistible blend of humor, imagination and fun,” said Greg Silverman, the studio’s president of creative development and worldwide production. “Warner Bros. is excited to build our relationship with The Lego Group with this new adventure, and we join them in welcoming the multi-talented Rob Schrab to the Lego family as he takes the helm of The Lego Movie Sequel.”

The flick is due to make a snow angel on theater screens Sept. 23, 2016.
