Moviehole at the Back to the Future BD junket

Whoa, this is heavy.

After 25 years of huge success the world over, the beloved Marty McFly and Doc. Brown are back in the news and on the covers of magazines (and website homepages). It’s safe to say you would be hard pressed to find too many people who didn’t see and love the Back to the Future trilogy back in the mid eighties, or in the two-and-a-half decades that have followed. So, the celebration of its quarter century endurance and subsequent release to Blu Ray was always going to be a big deal. And without a doubt, it was.

Moviehole was given front row access to the reunion of the cast and crew at a press conference in New York City Monday, followed by a Back to the Future party that evening (fully decked out with a DeLorean replica on the lawn, 1950’s diner staff and Cherry Coke). Michael J Fox, Lea Thompson, Christopher Lloyd, Mary Steenburgen, Huey Lewis and filmmakers Bob Gale, Neil Canton and Robert Zemeckis celebrated with the unveiling (and eating) of a DeLorean cake, plus recalled their fond memories of shooting the trilogy. For Lea Thompson, one was her line in her 1955 bedroom where Marty wakes up and asks the question, where are his pants? “‘Over there on my hope chest’. That was a gift you gave me really late. I don’t even know that was in the script.” The party really was a Back to the Future fan’s dream.

Here’s a look at the party, firstly :

The cast and filmmakers had plenty of other favorite memories, lines and tell which props they still have in their possession, all of which you can check out in the videos below.
