MTV greenlights Scream TV show

There’s still boo’s to be had in the ol’ Ghostface costume, it seems.

A couple of years since after it was initially mentioned, MTV has greenlit the small-screen spin-off of the “Scream” quadrilogy.

The project, which was originally expected to go sometime last year, is spearheaded by Dimension Films and former MTV execs Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley’s DiGa Vision.

There’s no writer onboard yet, thus no plot or script, but Dimension hopes to have Wes Craven reprise his role as director – at least on the pilot.

MTV, who’ve had success with the small-screen take on “Teen Wolf”, have high hopes for “Scream”, already penciling it in for a Summer 2014 bow.

The last “Scream” film, 2011’s “Scream 4” did lousy business at the box-office, essentially squishing plans for a proposed second trilogy right out of the gate.
