New Line to Set if Off again

And more urban sequels in the works

Though I strongly doubt Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and company will be back, New Line says they’ve given the emerald signal to a sequel to “Set it off” (1996).

According to Video Business, the direct-to-video (and there’s the proof that Latifah and gang won’t be back) sequel “would continue the story line of the original 1996 drama about female bank robbers”.

In addition, New Line has also given the thumbs up to a fourth “Friday” – which, like “Set if Off 2”, will go straight to DVD. The surprise here? Ice Cube is going to star in it. (And rumours persist that Chris Tucker will return too). A second sequel to Walter Hill’s boxing drama “Undisputed” – the sequel, directed by Isaac Florentine and starring Michael Jai White and Scott Adkins, was just released on DVD – is also in the works.
