No Nine for me, Friendo!

Bardem drops out of Rob Marshall musical

Javier Bardem’s “too hot” for Rob Marshall’s “Nine”, it seems.

The Oscar Winning star of “No Country for Old Men” has walked from the project, a musical starring Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz (they really should try and get Mimi Rogers and Rebecca DeMornay in there! Man, there would be some Cruise stories shared, wouldn’t there!?), claiming he’s just too exhausted to take it on.

Bardem was expected to play Guido Contini, a film director who experiences personal and creative crisis trying to balance all the women in his life, says Variety.

“Javier personally asked me if we could move production to February, but we just couldn’t do it,” said TWC co-chairman Harvey Weinstein. “He is an amazing talent and I know we’ll work together in the future, very soon.”
