Now they’re bringing Weeds back…

The revival novelty doesn’t seem to have waned yet – at least not on studio bean pole counters.

Starz are reportedly developing a sequel series to choof-dramedy “Weeds”, with original star Mary Louise-Parker expected to reprise her role as the drug-dealing mama. The new incarnation will be set ten years after the final episode (so no ‘married to the cartel’ story, then? great!) and fix on Nancy’s vocation, now that California has officially legalized Marijuana.

“West Wing” alum Parker will also executive produce the potential new series alongside fellow executive producer Victoria Morrow (who worked on the original), who is also writing the update.
Jenji Kohan, the creator of the original series, is not involved in “Weeds” 4.20.

Lionsgate TV will produce the new version, which will likely – only speculating – include return turns from original players Kevin Nealon and Elizabeth Perkins, even if they’re not regulars.
