Sony announced today that original “Ghostbusters” cast-members Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts will appear alongside the stars of the reboot, Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, on the June 8th episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live”.
Of the event, “Ghostbusters” (2006) director Paul Feig said : “Seeing the original and new Ghostbusters all together (will be) like being in the presence of the comedy gods on Mount Olympus. This is an epic summit of some of the funniest people on the planet. Long live the Ghostbusters!”
A passing-of-the-torch on late night TV? Well, that’s one way to sell purists on the new one.
