“Boardwalk Empire’s” Oakes Fegley and Tony award winning actress Oona Laurence have joined the cast of Disney’s “Pete’s Dragon” remake.
David Lowery will direct the remake of the 1977 musical which followed Pete and his unusual best friend, Elliot the dragon.
The film will be live-action with CGI used for the dragon. It has also been reported that the remake will ditch the musical aspect of the original film.
Toby Halbrooks wrote the screenplay with Lowery.
