Powell joins Expendables 3; Filming kicks off next week

Young newcomer Glenn Powell will play the ‘Liam Hemsworth role’ in “The Expendables 3”, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The actor, seen in a similar role on (a recent guest stint in) “NCIS”, fills the void left by Hemsworth’s “Expendables 2” character was pushed off-screen halfway through that movie.
Writer and star Sylvester Stallone said he had been looking for some young actors to join him and old guys Schwarzenegger, Ford, Lundgren and co. for this third installment in the muscle-promotion.
The trade says Powell is playing “a highly trained combat veteran who is also an expert hacker and drone pilot.”

Meanwhile, Bulgarian newspapers are reporting that the movie is only a week away from it’s shoot. The cast, including Stallone and Milla Jovovich (who I didn’t realize had been confirmed?), will be filming a major action sequence on the 19th. The sequence is reportedly set at a shipyard and features speedboats, helicopters (someone will be jumping from one) and jet skis.

Here’s Sly in Bulgaria talking up the film, and the whole ‘Bruce Willis situation’.
