While it’s been rumoured for a while now, People reports star Anne Hathaway and director Gary Marshall are attached to bring us a third “Princess Diaries” movie.
“I was with Anne Hathaway a couple weeks ago, it looks like we want to do Princess Diaries 3 in Manhattan,” Marshall told PEOPLE. “Anne Hathaway is very pregnant, so we have to wait until she has the baby and then I think we’re going to do it.”
Nothing has been confirmed yet so who knows when, or even if, the movie is really in development. Perhaps this only means Marshall “wants” to make another movie.
2001’s “The Princess Diaries” saw Hathaway play Mia Thermopolis, a teenager who discovers that she is the heir to the throne of the fictional Kingdom of Genovia. Julie Andrews also starred in the film as Mia’s grandmother, Queen Clarisse Renaldi (Andrews).
The film was followed up by a sequel, co-starring Chris Pine, in 2004.
