Fortitude has announced that Tim Roth, Parker Posey, Maggie Q, Alice Eve, Stephen Fry and Sofia Vergara are joining Uma Thurman in the comedy “The Brits Are Coming”. Currently shooting in New York, the movie tells of “an eccentric British con-artist couple, Harriet (Thurman) and Peter Fox (Roth)” who “flee to Los Angeles to get away from paying a large debt to Ivanka, a notorious gangster (Maggie Q) after a failed poker game. In an attempt to raise the money, the couple approach a former associate, Sidney (Fry), who secretly sells their whereabouts. With the gangster hot on their trail, the pair scheme to win back the money by executing a jewel theft operation involving Peter’s ex-wife (Eve) and her new husband, Gabriel.”
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (August 27, 2015) – Oscar nominee Tim Roth (SELMA and upcoming THE HATEFUL EIGHT), Golden Globe nominee Parker Posey (IRRATIONAL MAN, SUPERMAN RETURNS), Maggie Q (THE DIVERGENT SERIES, LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD), Alice Eve (STAR TREK INTO THE DARKNESS, upcoming CRIMINAL), Golden Globe nominee Stephen Fry (THE HOBBIT, SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS) and Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominee Sofia Vergara (CHEF, ABC’s “Modern Family”) have joined Oscar Nominated Uma Thurman in the cast of the comedy THE BRITS ARE COMING, it was announced today by producers Cassian Elwes (DALLAS BUYERS CLUB, Lee Daniels’ THE BUTLER), Robert Ogden Barnum (MARGIN CALL, LAWLESS), JC Chandor (A MOST VIOLENT YEAR, ALL IS LOST) and Dave Hansen (HELLION).
Shooting is currently underway on THE BRITS ARE COMING in New York City.
The film is being directed by James Oakley (THE DEVIL YOU KNOW) who co-wrote the screenplay with Alex Michaelides.
Ike Suri, Jaclyn Ann Suri, Larry Safir, Papu Butani, Quinn Meyers, Johnny Mac, Dee Haslam, Matthew Helderman, David Kyle, Dom Genest and Luke Taylor are executive producing with Elliot Michael Smith co-producing the project.
Fortitude International, co-founded by Nadine de Barros, Barnum and Daniel Wagner, is handling international rights to the project. Producers currently hold US rights.

Tim Roth will next be seen in Quentin Tarantino’s highly anticipated western THE HATEFUL EIGHT opposite Kurt Russell, Bruce Dern and Samuel L. Jackson, which The Weinstein Company will release in theatres on Christmas. He was recently seen starring in the 2015 Cannes Film Festival award-winning CHRONIC and the Berlinale award-winning 600 MILES as well as co-starring in last year’s Oscar nominated SELMA. He was nominated for an Oscar for his supporting role in ROB ROY.
Parker Posey can currently be seen in theatres in Woody Allen’s IRRATIONAL MAN co-starring Joaquin Phoenix and Emma Stone for Sony Pictures Classics. Her past credits include Warner Bros. box office hit SUPERMAN RETURNS, YOU’VE GOT MAIL, THE HOUSE OF YES, SCREAM 3 and BROKEN ENGLISH, which earned her an Independent Spirit Award nomination. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in the television film, HELL ON HEELS: THE BATTLE OF MARY KAY.
Maggie Q recently starred in Lionsgate’s worldwide box office hit sensations DIVERGENT and INSURGENT opposite Shailene Woodley and Kate Winslet and will reprise her role in the next installment in the series, ALLEGIANT: PART 1 set to be released in March 2016. Her other film credits include LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD starring Bruce Willis and MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III starring Tom Cruise. She was also the lead in CBS’ “Stalker” and The CW’s popular TV series, “Nikita.”
