CBS Films announced today that Bryan Cranston (Drive, TV’s Breaking Bad), Anna Kendrick (50/50, Up In The Air) and Miles Teller (Footloose, Project X) will star in the comedy tentatively titled ”Get A Job”. Nick Braun (Prom, TV’s Poor Paul), Alison Brie (Scream 4, TV’s Community), Brandon T. Jackson (Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son, Tropic Thunder), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Fright Night, Superbad) and Jay Pharoah (TV’s Saturday Night Live, Lola Versus) are set to co-star in the film. Dylan Kidd (Roger Dodger, TV’s Children’s Hospital) is attached to direct the film from a screenplay by Kyle Pennekamp and Scott Turpel. Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher (Django Unchained, Contagion) of Double Feature Films are attached to produce.
Aidan Quinn (“Stakeout”, “Blink”) is joining the cast of CBS’s new ‘Sherlock Holmes’ series, “Elementary”. “The project, written by Robert Doherty, is set in present day and stars [Jonny Lee] Miller as eccentric Brit Sherlock Holmes, a former consultant to Scotland Yard whose addiction problems led him to a rehab center in New York City. Just out of rehab, Holmes now lives in Brooklyn with “sober companion” Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) while consulting for the NYPD. Quinn will play NYPD Captain Gregson who worked with Sherlock at Scotland Yard after 9/11 and was so impressed with his work that he has invited him to work as a consultant to the police in New York City. Gregson grew accustomed to Sherlock’s “eccentricities” in the U.K., but knows they won’t necessarily fly in the Big Apple.” (Deadline)
Ricardo De Montreuil, director of the short film “The Raven”, is in talks to helm 20th Century Fox’s “Zorro Reborn” (Variety).
Theo James (“Underworld : Awakening”) has replaced Ryan Phillippe on the CBS series “Golden Boy” about “a cop, and chronicles his meteoric rise from officer to detective and ultimately police commissioner.” (Deadline)

“Piranha 3D” helmer Alexandre Aja ”is negotiating to direct Undying Love, an adaptation of the Image Comics title for Warner Bros. The film revolves around an ex-solider who falls for a vampire, though in order to be with her, he must take on her creator, who is protected by an army of monsters in the Hong Kong underworld.” (Deadline)
