MENKE’S LAST WORDS

The Greenroom Podcast has the very last interview with Quentin Tarantino’s long-time editor Sally Menke, who died just a few days after recording it. Haunting last words from Menke towards the end of the chat : ”I’m going to be working with Quentin I think March of next year or something like that, I’m not sure when but hopefully we’ll be doing many more. You just gotta keep working, gotta keep making interesting films.”

ED HARRIS ON A LEDGE

Ed Harris has joined the cast of “Man on a Ledge”, a thriller starring Sam Worthington and Elizabeth Banks. ”An ex-cop and now wanted fugitive (Sam Worthington) stands on the ledge of a high-rise building while a hard-living New York Police Department hostage negotiator (Elizabeth Banks) tries to talk him down. The longer they are on the ledge, the more she realizes that he might have an ulterior objective”.Asger Leth directs.

SINGH CONFIRMED FOR SNOW WHITE

Worst kept secret in Hollywood was just confirmed : Tarsem Singh will direct an untitled “Snow White” movie (one of three “Snow White” movies in development, actually). Melissa Wallack wrote the script, which begins with the evil stepmother kills Snow White’s father and destroying the kingdom. Our heroine then bands together with a gang of seven quarrelsome dwarves to reclaim what is rightly hers. (More…)

CABLE SERIES WAKES UP THE DEAD

The 90-minute Halloween episode of “The Walking Dead” (really enjoyed it… but the horse scene was hard to stomach, was it not!?) delivered 5.3 million viewers and a 3.3 adults 18-49 rating. That’s apparently the biggest number for a cable series premiere this year. “It’s a good day to be dead. We are so proud of this series, its depth of storytelling and the remarkable talent attached,” said Charlie Collier, AMC’s president. “As the network dedicated to bringing viewers the best stories on television, we are so pleased to have the opportunity with The Walking Dead to raise the bar within this popular genre and continue our commitment to being the home of premium television on basic cable.” (More…)
