The poster for the upcoming Angelina Jolie/Johnny Depp thriller “The Tourist” is online. Now, I know the trailer looked about as desirable as month-old bread, but the script is a lot of fun.. so try to ignore the sloppily-conceived marketing.

The “Star Trek” star follows a man who must deliver $150,000 in cash to an alcoholic sister he didn’t know he had after the death of their father. Michael Caine – renowned for blurting (he’s let slip details about the “Batman” series before Warners and director Chris Nolan wanted it out there) – has revealed what the ending for “Inception” means.

The Australian box office hit “Tomorrow When The War Began” is still going strong having taken AUD$11 million in Australia and over NZD$1.2 million in New Zealand. Opening early last month in both countries the film scored the third-biggest ever opening for an Australian film after Happy Feet and Australia and taking the position as the biggest Australian film of 2010. After successful launches in Australia and New Zealand where the film is continuing to attract huge audiences, Paramount Pictures International has also acquired distribution rights for the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Russia, Portugal and South Africa.Andrew Cripps, President Paramount Pictures International, said “We are delighted to be distributing Tomorrow When the War Began in these additional markets and greatly look forward to bringing this story to international audiences.” Writer/director Stuart Beattie told Moviehole a couple of days ago that the sequel is looking real good… so keep your eyes peeled for an official announcement shortly.

Matthew McConaughey and Rip Torn are joining Jack Black and Shirley MacLaine in “Bernie,” the dark comedy being directed by Richard Linklater. The pic is set in the small town of Carthage, Texas, and follows Renaissance man/community leader/mortician Bernie (Black), who strikes up an unlikely friendship with a wealthy but very particular widow (MacLaine). Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep are in talks to star for The Weinstein Company in the bigscreen adaptation of the Tracy Letts’ Pulitzer and Tony-winning play ”August: Osage County”. ”Streep will play Violet, the drug-addicted matriarch of the working class Weston clan. Roberts will play Barbara Fordham, the oldest daughter in the family. While mom’s problems and her penchant for revealing family secrets is a big issue, Barbara is melting because her husband is cheating with a college student. They are brought together when Violet’s husband goes missing and all three of their daughters come home to rally around mom. In the process, a lot of family secrets get revealed”.
