While no names have been officialized in the press, it looks almost certain that “Twin Peaks” fave Ray Wise will be back as Leland Palmer (yes, Okay.. so he’s dead.. but this is “Twin Peaks”!) for Showtime’s sequel series in 2016.
Wise, who played Laura Palmer’s long-suffering poppa, hit Twitter this week with some posts that would seem to indicate he’s a lock for “Twin Peaks” 2.0.
Wise has kept in good with co-creator and director David Lynch over the years; he also appeared as Leland in a newly-record faux interview for the recent “Twin Peaks” Blu-ray set. It’s almost unfathomable to think he wouldn’t be involved in the new incarantion.
While Kyle MacLachlan’s Agent Cooper is the only other near-confirmed castmember, word from The Log indicates that Madchen Amick, Sheryl Lee, Everett McGill, Peggy Lipton, Grace Zabriskie, and Piper Laurie have also been lassoed into returning to North Bend.
