Rescue Me alum in Doubt

Steven Pasquale (“Rescue Me”, “The Good Wife”) has nabbed the male lead in CBS’ retooled ”Doubt” pilot, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Pasquale replaces Teddy Sears.

A couple of days back it was announced that Katherine Heigl would replace KaDee Strickland in the series.

Doubt, which narrowly missed a series pickup in May after going through development season as one of the most buzzy scripts, centers on Sadie, a smart, chic, successful defense lawyer (Heigl) at a boutique firm who shockingly gets romantically involved with one of her clients who may or may not be guilty of a brutal crime.

Pasquale, who replaces Teddy Sears, will take over the role of Billy, a decent, altruistic pediatric surgeon recently accused of murdering a 15-year-old girl many years ago, who is having a secret love affair with his attorney, Sadie.

CBS has high hopes for the drama, thus replacing it’s lesser-known actors with more bankable names.

The cast also includes Dule Hill, Laverne Cox, Kobi Libii, Elliott Gould and Dreama Walker.
