Rob Schneider returns to TV

With the core of his film work concerned primarily with ‘You can do it!’ cameos in Sandler fare, and the odd direct-to-video comedy, Rob Schneider’s opted to return to TV.

The former “Saturday Night Live” and “Men Behaving Badly” star will front an untitled half-hour for CBS, says Deadline. The show, written by Schneider and “SNL” comrade Lew Morton, is based on loosely on Schneider’s life and fixes on a solitary guy who marries into a huge Mexican-American family.

Schneider’s next film, which he also directed, is called “The Chosen One” and features the 46-year-old as a man who finally finds faith in himself after the rest of world puts its faith in him. Yes, it’s a comedy. Billed as such anyway.
