Robin Hood : Men in Tights

By Drew Turney

Too little too late for Mel Brooks. His lampooning of the Robin Hood legend isn’t a patch on earlier work like ”Blazing Saddles” and ”History of the World Part One”, it’s also not particularly funny.

Despite the fact that there wasn’t really a workable satire of Robin Hood and all the attendant potential for comedy (men wearing tights, the friar, etc) until this film was made, the jokes all feel old and lazy.

Blu-Ray Details and Extras

A couple of worthwhile featurettes on the making-of the film and a commentary by Brooks which, if memory serves me right, also appeared on the laserdisc version of the film.

Give this one a miss.
