Rooney Mara wants another Dragon Tattoo to go with the one she’s already got

Well, that Dragon ain’t gonna Tattoo itself, Sony!

Rooney Mara, so good as the Yankee incarnation of Lisbeth Salander in 2011’s “Girl with the Dragon Tatto”, says she’s dead keen to yank the Mohawk back on for the long-gestating sequel.

The American thriller, directed by David Fincher, was based on a film that spawned two sequels – “The Girl Who Played With Fire” and “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest”- but at this stage, Sony’s yet to officially greenlight any further adventures in English-language land.

The 28-year-old actress tells the online press that she hopes Sony comes to their senses and greenlights “Girl who played with Fire” before she’s 50 and things are drooping.

“I hope that they make the second one. I’m just not sure when they’re going to. I mean, I hope they make it soon because I’m not getting any younger. The second one is very physical, so hopefully they’ll be making it sooner rather than later.”

And by physical, Mara means she’ll be required to horizontal jog while slogging rogues with cold knuckles.

Back in 2011 when Sony tied Mara and Daniel Craig down to “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”, they had them both sign contracts stipulating that they’d appear in the two planned sequels. But after the film didn’t light the box-office on fire as easy as a shaky arson might’ve, Sony pressed pause on the trilogy and decided to instead their turn attention to that other blue movie franchise, “The Smurfs”.
